Phrasal Verbs: Ampliando tu Vocabulario en Inglés

Los phrasal verbs son verbos que cambian de significado cuando se les añaden ciertas preposiciones o adverbios. Se clasifican en:

  • Transitivos (con complemento directo)
  • Intransitivos (sin complemento directo)

Dentro de los transitivos, encontramos:

  • Separables: Se puede separar el verbo y la partícula.
  • Inseparables: No se puede separar el verbo y la partícula.

Algunos phrasal verbs pueden ser tanto transitivos como intransitivos. Por ejemplo:

  • Take off (transitivo): Significa quitar. Ejemplo: He took off his jacket.
  • Take off (intransitivo): Significa despegar. Ejemplo: The plane took off at six o'clock.
