Tiempos Verbales y Aspectos en Inglés

Presente Perfecto Simple y Continuo

  • Present Perfect Simple: Ejemplo: Has driven (3ª persona). Se utiliza para acciones que empezaron en el pasado y siguen teniendo relevancia en el presente.
  • Present Perfect Continuous: Ejemplo: Have been working. Acciones que empiezan en el pasado y siguen en el presente de forma continua.

Pasado Perfecto y Pasado Perfecto Continuo

  • Past Perfect: Una acción que pasó antes que otra en el pasado.
    Ejemplo: The killer had already escaped when the police arrived.
  • Past Perfect Continuous:
    Ejemplo: He had been working when I saw him.

Tiempos de Futuro

  • Will / Won't: Predicciones, hechos seguros, ofrecimientos y promesas.
  • Going to: Planes previstos, intenciones y predicciones basadas en evidencias sobre el futuro.
  • Future Continuous: Acciones que estarán teniendo lugar en un momento específico del futuro.
    Ejemplo: The girl will be driving a car next week.
  • Future Perfect: Acciones que habrán acabado en un momento determinado del futuro.
    Ejemplo: We will have finished packing by tomorrow.

Condicionales

  • Conditional Simple:
    Ejemplo: The girl would drive a car if she had a driving licence.
  • Conditional Perfect:
    Ejemplo: The girl would have driven the car if she had lived in a village.

Verbos Modales en Inglés

  • Can: Posibilidad, habilidad y permiso.
  • Could: Habilidad en el pasado, peticiones educadas, imposibilidad en el pasado, especulaciones, sugerencias y críticas.
  • Be able to: Indica que lograste realizar la acción en un momento específico.
    Ejemplo: One day I was able to swim for one hour at that age.
  • May: Petición, permiso, posibilidad y especulación.
  • Might: Posibilidad y especulación.
  • Must: En negativa sirve para prohibir u obligar; en afirmativa indica deducción.
  • Need / needn't: Ausencia de obligación o necesidad.
  • Should / Ought to: Consejos, obligación moral y críticas pasadas.
  • Shall: Ofrecimiento (1ª persona del singular), sugerencia (1ª persona del plural) y toma de decisiones.
  • Would: Ofrecimiento y petición educada.

Modales Perfectos (Modal + Past Participle)

  • They may have got married.
  • They couldn't have taken the plane.
  • Jane must have gone.
  • They should have arrived. / You shouldn't have done it.

Pronombres Relativos (Relative Pronouns)

  • Defining Relative Clauses: No llevan comas. El pronombre se puede omitir si funciona como objeto.
    • Personas: Who, that (cuando actúan como sujeto o objeto).
    • Cosas: Which, that.
    • Posesión: Whose.
    • Lugar: Where.
    • Tiempo: When.
  • Non-Defining Relative Clauses: Van entre comas.
    • Ejemplo: Tim, whose brother I work with, is a really generous man.

La Voz Pasiva (Passive Voice)

Se forma con el verbo to be en el mismo tiempo verbal que la voz activa, seguido del participio del verbo principal.

  • Present Simple: Takes $ ightarrow$ is taken
  • Present Continuous: Is taking $ ightarrow$ is/are being taken
  • Past Simple: Took $ ightarrow$ was/were taken
  • Past Continuous: Was/were taking $ ightarrow$ was/were being taken
  • Present Perfect Simple: Has/have taken $ ightarrow$ have/has been taken
  • Past Perfect Simple: Had taken $ ightarrow$ had been taken
  • Future Simple: Will take $ ightarrow$ will be taken
  • Future Perfect: Will have taken $ ightarrow$ will have been taken
  • Conditional: Would take $ ightarrow$ would be taken

Doble objeto:
Activa: They gave him a life sentence.
Pasiva: He was given a life sentence / A life sentence was given to him.

Estilo Indirecto (Reported Speech)

  • Present Simple $ ightarrow$ Past Simple: ("I study from 12 pm to 8 pm" $ ightarrow$ He said that he studied from 12 pm to 8 pm).
  • Present Continuous $ ightarrow$ Past Continuous

Oraciones Condicionales (Conditionals)

  • Second Conditional (Segundo Condicional): If + Past Simple = Condicional (would, could, might + infinitivo).
    Ejemplo: If we lived in London, we would go to the cinema more often.
  • Third Conditional (Tercer Condicional): If + Past Perfect = Conditional Perfect (would have, could have, might have + past participle).
    Ejemplo: If you had taken the train, you wouldn't have been late.
