Reported Speech (Estilo Indirecto)
Cambios en los Tiempos Verbales
- Present simple → Past simple
- Present continuous → Past continuous
- Present perfect simple → Past perfect simple
- Past simple → Past perfect simple
- will → would
- can → could
- must → had to
Cambios en Expresiones de Tiempo y Lugar
- here → there
- this → that
- these → those
- now → then
- next week → the following week
- today → that day
- tonight → that night
- tomorrow → the following day
- yesterday → the day before
- last week → the week before
Condicionales
- 1.er Condicional: If + Present simple, will + infinitive
- 2.º Condicional: If + Past simple, would + infinitive
- 3.er Condicional: If + Past perfect, would have + past participle
Uses of the Gerund (-ing)
- Después de preposiciones.
- Como sustantivo, sobre todo cuando es el sujeto de una frase.
- Después de ciertos verbos:
- admit, advise, avoid, can't help, can't imagine, can't stand, complete, consider, discuss, dislike, don't mind, enjoy, finish, give up, imagine, keep, mention, mind, miss, practise, recommend, regret, report, resist, risk, suggest.
Uses of the Infinitive (con to)
- Después de nombres (sustantivos).
- Después de adjetivos.
- Después de ciertos verbos:
afford, agree, appear, arrange, ask, attempt, beg, choose, dare, decide, demand, deserve, expect, fail, hesitate, hope, intend, learn, manage, mean, need, offer, prepare, pretend, promise, refuse, seem, threaten, wait, want, wish.
