1. Oraciones Condicionales y Pronombres Relativos

Tipos de Condicionales

  • First Conditional (Primer condicional): Expresa consecuencias de una acción que es posible que ocurra en el futuro.
    Estructura y ejemplo: If you go to England, you will learn to speak English better.
  • Second Conditional (Segundo condicional): Plantea una situación hipotética en el presente o futuro.
    Estructura y ejemplo: If I had a lot of money, I would buy a house.
  • Third Conditional (Tercer condicional): Plantea una situación hipotética en el pasado (hechos que no sucedieron).
    Estructura y ejemplo: If Patrick had studied for the exam, he would have passed.
  • Mixed Conditionals (Condicionales mixtos): If + had + verbo en 3.ª columna (participio) + would/could + infinitivo.

2. Estructuras con Wish y Regrets (Deseos y Quejas)

  • Para desear que una situación presente fuese diferente de cómo es:
    Wish / If only + sujeto + Past Simple / Past Continuous (ejemplo: I ate / I was eating).
  • Para arrepentirnos de situaciones pasadas:
    Wish / If only + sujeto + Past Perfect (ejemplo: I had eaten).
  • Para quejarnos de la conducta de alguien o de una situación en el presente:
    Wish / If only + sujeto + would + infinitivo.

4. Tiempos Verbales en Inglés

Presente

  • Present Simple: I eat (yo como).
    Estructura: Sujeto + verbo en presente (con he, she, it = verbo + -s / -es).
    Marcadores temporales: always, at night, every day, in the morning / afternoon / evening, never, often, once a week / month / year, sometimes.
  • Present Continuous: I am eating (yo estoy comiendo).
    Estructura: Sujeto + to be + verbo con -ing.
    Marcadores temporales: now, at the moment, this weekend, this month, tonight, tomorrow.
  • Present Perfect: I have eaten (yo he comido).
    Estructura: Sujeto + have/has + verbo en 3.ª columna / -ed.
    Marcadores temporales: for, since, just, already, yet, ever, never, recently, lately.
  • Present Perfect Continuous: I have been eating (yo he estado comiendo).
    Estructura: Sujeto + have/has been + verbo con -ing.

Pasado

  • Past Simple: I ate (yo comí / comía).
    Estructura: Sujeto + verbo en pasado.
    Marcadores temporales: ago, yesterday, the day before yesterday, last week / night / month / year.
  • Past Continuous: I was eating (yo estaba comiendo).
    Estructura: Sujeto + was/were (had been) + verbo con -ing.
    Marcadores temporales: as, at 7 am yesterday, last week / month, when, while.
  • Past Perfect: I had eaten (yo había comido).
    Estructura: Sujeto + had + verbo en 3.ª columna / -ed.
    Marcadores temporales: after, already, before, by the time.
  • Past Perfect Continuous: I had been eating (yo había estado comiendo).
    Estructura: Sujeto + had been + verbo con -ing.

5. Usos de Would, Used to, Be Used to y Get Used to

  • Would: Se utiliza para acciones habituales en el pasado (ejemplo: solíamos nadar en el río). No se utiliza en oraciones negativas; en ese caso se emplea used to.
  • Used to: Para hábitos, acciones y estados en el pasado.
    Ejemplos: Solíamos tener 4 perros; solía vivir junto a mis abuelos; solía nadar en el río.
    Frecuencias asociadas: always, every day, frequently, generally, never, once a week / month, rarely, seldom, sometimes, often, usually.
  • To be used to + sustantivo / verbo-ing: Significa estar «acostumbrado a».
    Ejemplo: Estoy acostumbrado al sabor → I'm used to the flavor.
  • To get used to + sustantivo / verbo-ing: Significa «acostumbrarse a» (proceso).
    Ejemplos: Me acostumbré al sabor → I got used to the flavor; ella se está acostumbrando a cocinar para sí misma → She is getting used to cooking for herself.

6. Formas de Futuro y Verbos Modales

Tiempos de Futuro

  • Be going to: Para hablar de planes o intenciones (ejemplo: Sam is going to open his own...) y predicciones con evidencia.
    Marcadores temporales: next Tuesday / week / month / year, later this evening / week / month, tomorrow, tonight, in the future.
  • Will (Future Simple): Predicciones basadas en opinión personal, promesas, amenazas, decisiones espontáneas, horarios establecidos y oraciones condicionales.
  • Future Continuous: will be + -ing («estaré...»). Expresa acciones que estarán ocurriendo en un momento concreto del futuro y preguntas sobre planes futuros.
    Marcadores temporales: at this time next week, at nine in the morning, tomorrow evening.
  • Future Perfect: («habré...»). will have + 3.ª columna / -ed.
    Marcadores temporales: by 10 o'clock tonight, in six months' time.

Verbos Modales (Modal Verbs)

  • Ability (Habilidad): can, could, be able to.
  • Obligation (Obligación): must, have to, don't have to, needn't.
  • Prohibition (Prohibición): mustn't, can't.
  • Possibility (Posibilidad): may, might, could (puede que sepa...).
  • Certainty (Certeza): can't, must.
  • Advice (Consejos): should, shouldn't, ought to, ought not to.
