2. Movie Review

Movie: Parasite (2019) Director: Bong Joon-ho

Parasite is a modern masterpiece that masterfully combines drama, comedy, and social critique. The film follows a poor family that gradually infiltrates the lives of a wealthy household, triggering a series of surprising and disturbing events.

Bong Joon-ho achieves an impressive balance between entertainment and social depth. The directing is impeccable, and the screenplay is full of unexpected twists. The cinematography, music, and acting are top-notch, especially the performance by actor Song Kang-ho.

The critique of class division and inequality is present in every scene, without becoming preachy. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture, Parasite not only entertains but also prompts reflection on the invisible barriers that separate people.

3. Opinion Essay

Topic: Should Social Media Use Be Reduced Among Teenagers?

Today, the excessive use of social media by teenagers has become a growing concern. While these platforms offer opportunities for expression and socialization, they also bring significant negative effects.

First, numerous studies have linked prolonged social media use to increased anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues in young people. Constant comparison and the pursuit of validation through “likes” create an emotionally toxic environment.

Second, the time spent on these platforms takes away from studying, reading, and in-person interaction, activities crucial for cognitive and social development.

For these reasons, I believe social media use among teenagers should indeed be reduced through educational campaigns, technological limits, and greater parental supervision. Promoting responsible use would contribute to a healthier and more balanced youth.
