Active vs. Passive Voice

Regla General

Passive = BE + Participio (V3)

Present Simple

Active: I make pizza.

Passive: Pizza is made.

Formula: am / is / are + V3

Present Continuous

Active: I am making pizza.

Passive: Pizza is being made.

Formula: am / is / are being + V3

Present Perfect

Active: I have made pizza.

Passive: Pizza has been made.

Formula: has / have been + V3

Past Simple

Active: I made pizza.

Passive: Pizza was made.

Formula: was / were + V3

Past Continuous

Active: I was making pizza.

Passive: Pizza was being made.

Formula: was / were being + V3

Past Perfect

Active: I had made pizza.

Passive: Pizza had been made.

Formula: had been + V3

Future Simple

Active: I will make pizza.

Passive: Pizza will be made.

Formula: will be + V3

Be Going To

Active: I am going to make pizza.

Passive: Pizza is going to be made.

Formula: am / is / are going to be + V3

Modal Verbs

(can, must, should, may...)

Active: I must clean the room.

Passive: The room must be cleaned.

Formula: modal + be + V3

Modal Perfect

Active: I should have cleaned the room.

Passive: The room should have been cleaned.

Formula: modal + have been + V3

V3 = Participio
