Conditionals (Condicionales)

Zero Conditional:

Se utiliza para una situation (real present) que conlleva una consequence (real present).

Estructura: If + Presente Simple, Presente Simple

Ejemplo: If you freeze water, it turns into ice. (Si congelas el agua, se convierte en hielo).

First Conditional (One):

Se utiliza para una real present situation (present) que lleva a un real possible future (future). Se pueden usar verbos modales como will, may, might, could.

Estructura: If + Presente Simple, Will + Verbo en infinitivo

Ejemplo: If it rains tomorrow, I will stay at home. (Si llueve mañana, me quedaré en casa).

Second Conditional (Two):

Se utiliza para situaciones not real, hypothetical o imaginary (past) que tendrían un resultado not real o imaginary (would).

Estructura: If + Pasado Simple, Would + Verbo en infinitivo

Ejemplo: If I won the lottery, I would buy a house. (Si ganara la lotería, compraría una casa).

Uso de "Hope" (Yo espero)

Present

• Estructura Positiva: Sujeto + hope + Sujeto + Verbo en presente
• Estructura Negativa: Sujeto + hope + Sujeto + doesn't / don't + Verbo en infinitivo (uso de auxiliares do, does, doesn't)

Ejemplo: I hope she participates. (Espero que ella participe).

Ejemplo: I hope she doesn't fail. (Espero que ella no repruebe).

Future

• Estructura Positiva: Sujeto + hope + Sujeto + will + Verbo en infinitivo
• Estructura Negativa: Sujeto + hope + Sujeto + won't (will not) + Verbo en infinitivo (ejemplo: to have)

Ejemplo: I hope she will pass. (Espero que ella pase).

Ejemplo: I hope she won't fail. (Espero que ella no vaya a reprobar).

Uso de "Wish" (Yo deseo / Ojalá)

Present

Se utiliza para deseos sobre situaciones actuales que son diferentes a la realidad.

• Estructura Positiva: Sujeto + wish + Sujeto + Verbo en Pasado
• Estructura Negativa: Sujeto + wish + Sujeto + didn't + Verbo en infinitivo (uso de had, didn't, were)

Ejemplo: I wish I had a good day. (Desearía tener un buen día / Ojalá tuviera un buen día).

Ejemplo: I wish she didn't accept your offer. (Desearía que ella no aceptara tu oferta).

Future

Se utiliza para expresar un deseo de que algo cambie o suceda en el futuro.

• Estructura Positiva: Sujeto + wish + Sujeto + would + Verbo en infinitivo
• Estructura Negativa: Sujeto + wish + Sujeto + wouldn't + Verbo en infinitivo

Ejemplo: I wish she would accept. (Desearía que ella aceptara / Ojalá ella acepte).

Ejemplo: I wish she wouldn't go. (Desearía que ella no fuera).
