Asunto: The story of how we got here / Our first days in Spain

Hi Yasel,
I hope everything is going well with you!
I've been thinking a lot about what we discussed the other day regarding family histories, and I really wanted to share the specific story of how my family arrived in Spain from Cuba. It's a moment in my life that I will never forget.
I still remember the day we landed. We stepped off the plane clutching just a few suitcases, which literally held our entire lives inside them. Coming from the warmth and the familiar, bustling streets of Cuba, everything here felt incredibly different at first: the air smelled different, the architecture was new, and even though we spoke the same language, the accent and the expressions took some getting used to!
Those first few weeks were a rollercoaster. I remember my parents sitting at the kitchen table of our tiny temporary apartment, looking at maps and paperwork, determined to make this work. There was definitely fear, but there was so much hope too. Little by little, we found our footing. We found the local markets, made our first friends, and discovered places that reminded us of home, while completely falling in love with Spanish culture.
Looking back, crossing the Atlantic was the biggest leap of faith we ever took. It taught me so much about resilience and what it truly means to build a home from scratch.
I'd love to hear more about your family's background next time we grab a coffee. Let me know when you're free to catch up!
Best,
Lizz

Artificial intelligence is changing the way we live, but there is something it will never be able to replace: true human connection. We spend hours scrolling through screens, looking for approval in the form of "likes," and communicating through memes or quick messages. It is fun and keeps us connected, but sometimes it feels a bit empty.
My opinion is that we are losing the beautiful habit of talking face-to-face, without the distraction of a flashing notification. An algorithm can guess what music we like or recommend the best series for the weekend, but it will never be able to replicate the empathy of a hug, the complicity of a glance, or a laugh shared in person.
Technology is an incredible tool to boost our creativity, as long as we don't forget that what truly defines us is our humanity and the real bonds we build.

Correo informal a un amigo: contándole algo

Asunto: Hello! Updating you on my life from Spain 🇪🇸

Hello Camila,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing because I wanted to say hello and catch up on what my life has been like lately, since I have had some major changes.
As you may remember, I used to live in Cuba, but a few months ago I decided to make a big move and came over here to Spain. Honestly, it has been quite an adventure. Adapting to a new country always has its challenges, from the customs to the weather, but I am very happy with the decision. Spain is beautiful and the people have welcomed me warmly. Slowly but surely, I am feeling at home, although I always miss my roots.
I would love to hear how you are doing. Take good care of yourself.
Warm regards,
Lizz
