Verbos Modales

  • Must: Obligación
  • Mustn't: Prohibición
  • Should / Shouldn't: Consejo
  • Might: Posibilidad
  • Can: Permiso, Capacidad
  • Can't: Prohibición, Deducción
  • Don't have to: Ausencia de obligación

Modal Perfect (Modales Perfectos)

Estructura: Modal + have + Participio Pasado (3ª columna / -ed)

Conectores y Conjunciones

  • As long as: Solo si, mientras, siempre que.
  • Even if: Incluso si.
  • Providing that: Siempre que.
  • Unless: A menos que, a no ser que.

(Nota: Los condicionales pueden usar verbos modales para expresar diferentes grados de certeza o posibilidad.)

Wishes and Regrets (Deseos y Arrepentimientos)

  • a. Wish (Deseos sobre el presente o futuro):
    Estructura: Sujeto + wish + Pasado Simple (o could)
  • b. If Only (Arrepentimientos sobre el pasado):
    Estructura: If only + Sujeto + Pasado Perfecto (had) (o could have)

Oraciones de Relativo (Relative Clauses)

  • Who: Personas (sujeto o objeto).
  • Which: Cosas.
  • Where: Lugares.
  • When: Tiempo.
  • Whose: Posesión.
  • That: Personas y cosas (en oraciones definitorias).

Oraciones Definitorias (Defining Relative Clauses)

No usan comas. La información es esencial. Se puede usar that para personas y cosas. El pronombre no se puede eliminar si funciona como sujeto.

Oraciones No Definitorias (Non-Defining Relative Clauses)

Usan comas. La información es adicional (se puede eliminar). Usamos who (personas) o which (cosas). No se usa that.
