The book "The Canterville Ghost" is about an American family (the Otis family) who move to England, a place where people strongly believed in ghosts.

For years, no one had lived in the house they were moving into because it was said to be haunted. However, the Otis family did not care about this reputation and moved there anyway.

Arrival and Initial Encounters

In the house, they found only the housekeeper, named Umney. She told them that the house was haunted and that no one had lasted more than one night there. Later, Mrs. Otis and the housekeeper saw a bloodstain in the library. The housekeeper fainted, but none of the family members were scared; they simply cleaned the spot. The next night, the bloodstain reappeared, but they remained unafraid.

The Ghost's Misadventures

The Canterville Ghost decided to try harder to scare them at night, making noises with his chains. However, Mr. Otis was not scared; instead, he gave the ghost some oil for his chains so they wouldn't make so much noise, allowing him to sleep. The ghost felt very disappointed.

After about a week, the ghost attempted to frighten the twins but failed to scare them. The ghost began to despair because he couldn't scare anyone, and they even mocked him, except for Virginia.

The Ghost's Rest

Finally, the ghost decided to ask Virginia for help so he could rest in peace, as it was said that he had murdered his wife.

What I found most amusing was the antics of the twins.

I really liked this work, and it's a good choice for a pleasant reading experience.
