Reading text
Dear Angela,
I am really upset with you. Do you remember that job I told you I really wanted?
Well, I almost got it. Almost — until my potential boss saw those embarrassing photographs of me that you had posted on Facebook. What were you thinking? If you had asked me, I’d never agreed to post those photos. Get rid of them before they cause more problems for me!
Lisa.
What might be a reason for an employer to reject a candidate as a result of what he saw on Facebook? The most common reason is that the person posted inappropriate photographs or comments. From some people’s comments, it was clear that they drank or took drugs. Other candidates criticised their previous employers or made confidential information public. Even some people said that they had lied about their qualifications.
