Tiempos Verbales en Inglés: Uso y Estructura

Presente Simple

  • Uso: Acciones habituales o rutinas, hechos generales.
  • Auxiliares: Do/Does.
  • Marcadores temporales: always, usually, generally, every day, once a week...
  • Ejemplos: I go, I don't go, Do you go?

Presente Continuo

  • Uso: Acciones que están ocurriendo en el momento de hablar.
  • Marcadores temporales: now, at the moment, this year...
  • Ejemplos: I am going, Are you going?

Pasado Simple

  • Uso: Acciones que ocurrieron en un momento concreto del pasado.
  • Marcadores temporales: in 2008, yesterday, last week, ago, back, when...
  • Estructura: Sujeto + Verbo en 2ª columna (o -ed) + Complemento.
  • Auxiliares: did/didn't (con verbo en forma base).

Present Simple (Presente Simple)

Estructura Afirmativa

  • I/you/we/they: verbo en infinitivo
  • He/she/it: verbo en infinitivo + -s o -es

Estructura Negativa

  • I/you/we/they: don't (do not) + verbo en infinitivo
  • He/she/it: doesn't (does not) + verbo en infinitivo

Estructura Interrogativa

  • Do + I/you/we/they + verbo en infinitivo?
  • Does + he/she/it + verbo en infinitivo?

Uso y Adverbios Comunes

Se utiliza para describir hábitos y rutinas. Aparece frecuentemente con adverbios de frecuencia como: often, always, sometimes, never, usually, seldom, every day/week/month.

Present Continuous (Presente Continuo)

Estructura Afirmativa

  • I: am + verbo + -ing
  • He/she/it: is + verbo + -ing

Reglas Generales para el Uso de Gerundios e Infinitivos

El uso correcto del gerundio (forma -ing) y el infinitivo (con o sin to) es fundamental en la gramática inglesa. A continuación, se detallan las reglas y excepciones más importantes.

Verbos que Aceptan Gerundio o Infinitivo (Sin Cambio Significativo)

Estos verbos pueden ir seguidos tanto por el gerundio como por el infinitivo sin que el significado de la oración varíe sustancialmente:

  • attempt, begin, continue, dislike, hate, intend, like, love, prefer, start.

Excepciones y Casos Especiales con Like, Love, Hate, Prefer

  • Presente Continuo: Se utiliza to + infinitivo detrás del presente continuo de los verbos begin y start, o cuando complementan a know, realize o understand.

Have/get something: have/get + obj. + participio pasado.
ej: she´s getting her hair cut. I´ve had my hair cut.


Relative pron: who, which, when, where, that,whose,(cuyo/a,kurio)
Be abd have(got): metai, alkis, baime-> am,are,is... posesion-> have+got.Verb+preposition:agree with, approve of, believe in,consist of, crash into, depend on,dream about,get married to,laugh at, sympathize with,think about,wait for,worry about.
